You might ask yourself “What would avocado be doing in my makeup”? In skin care, the two major advantages of the avocado are its softening and soothing nature and its ability to be absorbed through the skin.

Some avocado beauty benefits include:

It is really up to you whether you use the avocado fruit or Either way you are getting the benefits of the lovely green avocado to help smooth your complexion making your skin a fabulous pallet on which to apply your makeup for acne.

B is for Burdock:

Most people are familiar with burdock-it is that thistle like weed which gets stuck in your clothes and hair. When I owned horses I hated it! What a mess it would make in the manes and tails of my beauties! I didn’t know it then, but if I had used some of the root I could have had a healthy digestive system and clear skin, too!

Burdock root is something you might not think about using to help your acne or even as something to eat but it has been used for centuries in Asia as a blood tonic and purifier. Traditionally, the Chinese have used burdock root for septic conditions, boils and abscesses, throat inflammations, and tonsillitis. In the west, it is used for problem skin conditions.

You don’t have to go out and get all covered with burrs to take advantage of the benefits of burdock root. A trip to your local vitamin store is much easier. Burdock comes in capsule form, tea made from leaves and root, or in oil form.

But what can Burdock do for your acne blemishes? Burdock supports, strengthens and nourishes the body, including the immune system. Its oil has been used in treatment of the scalp, promoting healthy growth of hair and also as an aid for the sebaceous glands which function to bring impurities to the skins surface, allowing them to be washed away. By cleaning the toxins from the inside out, many people have seen an improvement in their acne condition.

If you don’t want to take burdock root internally, you can always take a small amount of the powder from the capsule and mix with water to apply to a pimple. Burdock oil or freshly grated burdock root can be applied directly to acne as well. Using a cotton swab, dab a small amount of burdock mixture or oil onto the site of your acne breakout before applying your regular Various lashes style high for acne.

C is for Cucumber:

One of the major issues with many people is eyes puffiness or bags and dark circles under the eyes. What we need to do is to brighten up the eye area and reduce puffiness and bags.

A surprising ingredient in some makeup is cucumber. Cucumbers have amazing cooling and moisturizing properties. In addition, they tone and soften. Cucumbers can reduce discoloration, relieve swelling and puffiness under your eyes and all over your face and temporarily shrink blood vessels. I like to use Almay Line Smoothing Concealer; it contains cucumber and has an SPF of 10.

Here is a quick and easy homemade face and eye refresher/toner made from cucumber:

Take ½ to 1 cucumber and grate it, apply the mush all over your face and neck, place slices of fresh cucumber over your eyes and lie down to relax for 15 to 20 minutes while the lowly vegetable works its magic. Cucumber is an excellent tonic. Use this cucumber mask regularly to prevent pimples, blackheads and to soften and tone your skin. Aaahh, your eyes and face will thank you!

Some of these ingredients are what we call “alterative”. Burdock for example is considered to be a ‘strong’ alterative. Alteratives bring to the surface things the body needs to eliminate. This can mean that in some cases where there is a particularly toxic and congested state, the symptoms may get worse at first. This is generally temporary. It just means that your body has a lot of toxic gunk to get rid of and you should see a big improvement in a month or so. As with all things, you should consult your doctor, or better yet, a nutritionist or homeopath familiar with herbal and natural remedies.

Beautiful skin can be as easy as A-B-C. As you can see, you might not need to look further than your backyard or even your refrigerator for what it takes to improve your skins appearance with natural ingredients added to your own homemade acne treatments or found in your favorite Various lashes style high for acne.
